Walking through a wildflower meadow

Walking towards a village on Wainwright’s Coast to Coast trail, we’re looking forward to seeing a wildflower meadow. We visit the quaint village of stone houses and a stone bridge then return on the same path discussing where the wildflower meadow could be that we missed it. Apparently in UK some local governments pay landowners to grow wildflowers in a natural setting to enable those native plants and insects to thrive. Suddenly we realise that we’re walking through the wildflower meadow, a small paddock with old fences and a single walking path diagonally from one gate to another. It’s bigger than a large backyard in Australia and we wouldn’t use the term meadow. Its beautiful. Tiny flowers are worth a stop, worth noticing. We’re amazed.
