Walking where waters cut a river, we’re on a spur trail to see Ohinepango Springs less than a kilometre from Waihohonu Hut, our third afternoon. We’ve walked from Oturere Hut today. Tomorrow we’ll finish our Tongariro Northern Circuit walk at Whakapapa Village where we began.
We’ve seen high mountains and walked over them, walked around others, so this view of an ancient dry creek bed shows the variety of the landscape.
