Walk along cliffs on the Coast to Coast

Walking along the cliff edge, we’re safe to see ledges of red sandstone stained white with bird droppings. The blackness of birds is hard to distinguish without binoculars. Kittiwakes, fulmars, guillemots, razorbills, rock pipits, cormorants, Atlantic puffins, shags and herring gulls all next along here. Most numerous are the guillemots. St Bees Head Nature Reserve is the only breeding ground for black guillemots in England.
